I bought a new external HDD yesterday. It was supposed to replace the old ones and accommodate all files from all of my nearly failing HDDs, external or internal. I've successfully backed up the files from all internal drives. But when I'm trying to back up all of the files from the old external drive, I've got error messages, saying it needs to be fixed. I tried using disk utilities but it didn't fix. I've only backed up the files from the root directory of that drive but I couldn't back up the rest due to that error. The drive failed when I plugged into my mom's laptop and attempted to back up there. Sadly, the rest of the files in that drive, including my drawings' original files, lost. it disheartened me when the drive failure destroyed everything. If I have more money to spend, I might send it to the services hosting clean room data recovery.
I've been testing my old PC for how long it will stay while running resource intensive programs and if the results have better outcomes, I might draw again but in a very careful manner. If I got enough savings, I'll buy a new PC or a laptop, preferably a gaming one.
